The Virginia Access to Justice Commission, a commission of the Virginia Supreme Court, named ISL’s General Counsel, Russell Shearer, to its 2023 Pro Bono Service Honor Roll in recognition of volunteer legal counsel he provided during the 2021-2022 period.  The Pro Bono Service Honor Roll highlights Virginia attorneys that donate at least forty hours of pro bono services to low-income; or civil-rights; religious, charitable, or civic clients or to volunteer activities that increase the availability of pro bono services, such as training and mentoring volunteer attorneys.  Mr. Shearer volunteers for two organizations dedicated to resolving homelessness and providing the homeless with essential services and for another that seeks to create job opportunities in underserved communities while also documenting and promoting those communities’ historical records of musical achievement.  ISL is a technology company that solves the toughest challenges, advances the state-of-the-art, and delivers effective, real-world solutions that propel customer success and provide a safer, brighter future.  We find our intellectual strength in the people that live in the communities where our facilities are located, which the Corporation’s President & CEO, Dr. Joseph R. Guerci, recognized in encouraging employees to volunteerism:  “We are part of our communities, and their vibrancy is essential to our success and to that of the Nation.”  The Corporation accordingly promotes volunteerism through contributions, sponsorships, and, at the end of each calendar year, the award of the ISL Volunteer Award to those employees making significant contributions in their community.
