Information Systems Laboratories, Inc., a high-tech, employee-owned technology-development company, is seeking applicants for a Code Developer in its Energy and Space Division, who will be based in either its Vienna, Virginia or Idaho Falls, Idaho office. ISL’s Energy and Space Division provides comprehensive support to the nuclear and space industries, including, but not limited to, safety analysis and assessment of complex engineering systems, computer code development along the entire software lifecycle, waste management tracking, risk management, and development of regulatory structures and evaluation procedures. ISL applies computer programs to simulate the physical behavior of commercial nuclear power plant systems during accident conditions to analyze of some of the potential complex safety issues associated with commercial nuclear reactors. The Software/Code Developer position involves satisfying code users’ requests for documentation, code versions or updates, modeling changes, improved user convenience, assistance and diagnosis of user problems, correction of code bugs, code changes, and updating code documentation. The Software/Code Developer will also perform verification and validation (V&V) of new model and existing code versions, as directed.

Education
The position requires a degree(s) in Nuclear Engineering or a related field.

Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Thermal-hydraulics expertise
Neutronics background
Knowledgeable with NRC Codes:
o TRACE
o RELAP5
o PARCS/PATHS/GenPMAXS

Strong programming background with expertise in:
o Fortran-90,95,2003,2008,2018
o C/C++
o Java
o Python

Developed software in accordance with NQA-1
Familiarity with assessment, regression, and unit testing
Strong technical writing skills
Self-driven with good communication skills
Works well with remote teams

Desired Skills
Computational Fluid Dynamics background
