(San Diego) - Information Systems Laboratories has announced that it
has been awarded a Phase 2 Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)
contract to develop and test Electric Field (E-field) sensors and
signal processing algorithms for the purpose of reducing the risk of
collision when a submarine is proceeding to periscope depth. ISL has
shown that E-field signals are quite visible in acoustically blind
zones, such as littoral, high traffic ambient noise, and multiple
thermal layer environments, and would help prevent collisions.

services firms. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth
over five years from 2000-2004.

(San Diego ) - R. MICHAEL DOWE, JR. is President and a Director of
Information Systems Laboratories, Inc., San Diego, California, where
he is Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Dowe has had over 30 years of
senior technical management experience in both industry and
government. In October 1995, Dr. Dowe founded Pi Cubed, Inc., a
California-based systems development corporation, which was
subsequently acquired by ISL. Prior to this, from 1982 to 1995 as
Executive Vice President of Titan Systems, Inc., he initiated and
managed the growth of the Applied Technology Division (the initial
research entity of the corporation) from one person to several
hundred.

(San Diego) - announced that their Surveillance and Communications
Research Division (SCRD) and Signal Processing Systems (SPS)
Division have been tasked by the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA) to implement and demonstrate a real-time advanced
radar signal processing algorithm developed at SCRD. The tasking is
part of ISL’s ongoing involvement in DARPA’s Knowledge Aided Sensor
Signal Processing and Expert Reasoning (KASSPER) program.

have been awarded a contract to develop and supply tactical air
deployable buoys for the Navy. These buoys are to be deployed from
Antisubmarine Warfare (ASW) maritime patrol aircraft.
