Corporate History Timeline
1982 - ISL was founded by John Don Carlos in Vienna VA. The technology formed what is now the Surveillance & Communications Research Operation consisting of high-end signal processing R&D/technology development.
1996 - Dr. R. Michael Dowe, Jr. became President and CEO and the ISL headquarters moved to San Diego, CA.
A series of acquisitions added Nuclear Energy technology services, complex hardware and software development and MIL-SPEC manufacturing:
2000 - The Nuclear Safety Analysis Operation was acquired from Scientech providing high-end nuclear engineering, science and PRA services, with a focus on supporting the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
2001 - Insei was acquired from its founder adding experience in U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) hazardous nuclear waste management and Information Technology excellence.
2002 - Signal Processing Systems was acquired from Smiths Industries bringing acoustic/RF signal processing systems development and integration experience (now Systems Engineering and Integration Operations and Manufacturing Solutions Operations).
2002 - Bosch Aerospace was acquired from its founder adding Lighter than Air (LTA) systems for ISR, aviation services and aerospace systems R&D expertise (now Aeronautical Systems Operations).
2007 - The Technology Risk Management Operation was established to provide Probability Risk Analysis, primarily for NASA.
2008 - Dr. Richard G. Miller became President and CEO.
2009 - Dr. Miller implemented the plan to "Transform ISL."
